Serve Abroad for Two Years
Peace Corps volunteers live in the community they serve, usually learning the local language, and work on projects identified by that community itself rather than projects designed from outside. It is a serious, multi-year commitment intended for adults (18+), often after finishing a degree, so this is one to bookmark for later rather than a quick weekend project. Application and country placement are handled entirely through the official Peace Corps site.
